ABOUT

I was homeschooled from first grade all the way through high school. My father made a curriculum for me and my brothers that mostly consisted of reading, drawing, and writing (with some math in there too).

I had always liked drawing, but it wasn’t till eleventh grade that I started to get more serious about art. I watched youtube videos on perspective, anatomy, lighting, composition, and all the fundamentals trying to hone my skills. The following summer I didn’t do much except draw. When my grandmother gifted me with a small Winsor and Newton watercolor set, I was immediately drawn to it. (pun intended)

I am inspired by John Singer Sargent, Joseph Zbukvic, and Gonzalo Carcamo. I have, and continue to learn a lot from them.

Thank you to my parents, who are the reasons I have gone professional with my art. I know this journey will be a long one, but it is a journey I am excited to make. My goal through my art is twofold; to make something beautiful, and to be able to more deeply appreciate this beautiful world that God has created for us to live in.
